Cheerz*

Tuesday, 23 February 2016

I was so excited when Cheerz contacted me to tell me about their amazing photo printing site and app. After being on so many holidays over the last year sometimes it can be hard with keep up-to-date on all of the photos you take and getting them printed. I love having memories from trips up in frames in the flat as it is such a nice reminder of where you have been and fantastic memories along the way. I thought I would try out the La Boîte À Photos which is a cute little box that contains 40 of your most favourite photos, photo corners to stick your photos up with, coloured string, colourful sellotape, tiny wooden pegs and envelopes. Being pretty arty and creative myself I really loved the idea of using these to create a little photo album or decorate a picture frame with lots of photos and extras.

The quality of the photos and standard of the box is something that I am really happy with. A lot of the photos I took with my iPhone so was scared the quality wouldn't be great but I am actually really impressed! So much so that I have already ordered the Photo Strips

I am really impressed by their quality, quick postage and range of products that I already can't wait to order more photos. These would be great as a gift for Valentines, Mothers day or even birthdays which are coming up.

Plus you can get £4 off your first order by using my discount code: JENNK5S at the checkout!

What to wear - Oslo in Winter

Friday, 5 February 2016

As some of you may know, earlier on this year during January I got the chance to visit my best friend in Oslo where she lives. I'd never been to Norway before but prepared myself for the famous cold weather that everyone talks about. Obviously getting some style tips and inside information about what to wear before hand really helped, so thought I would create a post to let everyone else know. The average temperature in Olso during January are between 3 to -7 degrees centigrade, so wrapping up warm is essential. As I had never really been to anywhere cold before on holiday, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Yes we get pretty cold temperatures in the UK but it doesn't often drop below freezing. So imagine my surprise when I saw the forecast is to be about -12 when I was there and lots of snow.

I would definitely recommend a good pair of winter boots, if you have a pair of snow boots - great! But if you don't and want to be still slightly style conscious, I opted for a pair of Ugg Bonham Chelsea boots. These are fantastic because not only do they look great on paired with pretty much anything but they also have a great sole for walking in snowy/icy conditions and are sheepskin lined for the ultimate cosy feet!

Mittens are another must for the cold weather. Although it may not seem like you'd need them believe me after being outside for about 2 minutes your hands will start to nip without them. The same goes for a headband or warm hat, you don't want your ears to get cold. I would recommend taking a couple of pairs of your favourite jeans and a couple of cute stylish jumpers to pair with.

Ultimately the most useful item that you can take with you is a really warm jacket. Going in and out of shops or into a restaurant means you don't want to have a million layers that you have to take off, its much easier to have one really big coat that does the trick. Ideally I would recommend something like a Woolrich Arctic Parka or a Canada Goose Chelsea Parka however I know these might not be in everyones budget and they are still very controversial over their use of real fur. I have included a couple of cheaper alternatives which would be just as great to take.

Lust List #13

Thursday, 28 January 2016

I feel like I have been the busiest person recently with working, holidays and catching up with things after Christmas, I have totally been neglecting even the simple things like shopping! Online shopping is definitely one of my favourite things as I think there is so much more diversity and you can always find a great deal. There hasn't been a lust list on my blog for a while so thought I'd let you know what I am looking for at the moment.

Cut Out Lace Heels
I know that nearly every girl I know has a pair of these, but I refused to buy a pair during the winter as I knew I would never have the chance to wear them in this freezing weather. These would look great paired with either of the skirts featured. I'm swaying over buying them as I'm not sure if the whole trend is a fad. But they are only £19.95 and come in lots of different colours.

Faux Leather Pencil Skirt
This skirt is what I need in my life right now. It's on trend, sophisticated and would look great paired with a number of things in my wardrobe. I actually just bought a black faux leather wrap skirt from H&M which I love so I'd really love to expand my leathers section of my wardrobe. This ones a steal at only £14.99.

Asymmetric Wrap Skirt
Again, this is another item that I really want in my wardrobe. As some of you might know, I'm heading to Barbados in March and I think this skirt would be a great addition to my summer essentials. I love that it would be really easy to wear and looks so comfortable. Grey is one of my favourite colours to wear at the moment but I also love the khaki. Plus it's only £6.95!

Tartan Cigarette Trouser
How amazing are these? I know that tartan trousers are supposed to be really cringey but I'm really into them. This pair would be great with a white shirt or fine knit jumper, I've got a couple in mind in my wardrobe that I would love to wear with these and for only £9.99 you can't really complain at that.

Lace Blouse
I really love the colour of this blouse, neutral colours have really been in this year and I think it will be a while before they go out of fashion. And the fact that the blouse is only £3.35 makes it so worth while. I'd pair this with a dark denim pair of jeans and black ankle boots.

Nylon Tote
I've been after a Longchamp bag for ages. Looked at them in numerous stores and in the airport on more than a few occasions. But I've never quite committed to one due the the fact I could justify spending so much on a bag I didn't think was totally worth it. So the thought of a really similar bag at a fraction of the price really appeals to me - £9.99 for a large bag is pretty incredible.

Faux Fur Waistcoat
These have been really popular this winter and I've seen them around a lot. I tried a few on but never really found the one that I really liked. Black is definitely the colour I'd go for so I really love the idea of getting this one. It's only £10.89 so if I don't like it at least it won't feel like I have wasted tons of money.

Multiway Bodycon Dress
I have been dreaming about going to Barbados ever since the idea was mentioned months ago and obviously this means scrutinising my current wardrobe in prep for going. This dress would be such a great and versatile piece to take with me as you can wear it so many different ways and for only £13.99!

2015 Thoughts

Wednesday, 13 January 2016

2015 has been a bit of a hit or miss for me. I graduated from university, I've travelled to places like Texas, Paris and Vienna to name a few - and had the best time doing it. But finding a graduate job is really tough. Unless you have the time and funding to do unpaid internships you are really setting yourself back in getting a career that you want. Last year I spend majority of my time after work apply for jobs which required 1-2 years of experience, as a recent graduate initially getting your foot in the door to gain that experience is proving very difficult. I'd love to get into the business industry as it's something that really interests me, but in the mean time I've had to work in retail to support myself. Luckily I've had the chance to work part-time to be able to gain some experience in marketing but at the end of the day it just isn't enough. I would love the chance to really throw myself into a company and develop myself. Like many of you I know how frustrating it can be knowing full well how easily you could do that job but getting rejected for it anyway. Well this year I'm continuing on my quest to find a career that I love, something which makes you want to go to work everyday and really apply yourself. So if any employers are out there and assessing whether or not I'd be the right candidate, I am. My dedication to the job and company would be proof enough. Not only that but I am hardworking and my problem solving abilities are second to none. I know it's hard to take a chance on someone but I guarantee it would be worth it.

Looking forward into 2016 I hope to spend more time with friends and family. I'd love the chance to travel as much as I can this year, as many of you know I'm travelling to Barbados soon and I've just got back from Oslo. I plan to review my Norway trip in a separate post and hope to write about all of the places I would love to travel to this year.

Holiday Inspiration... Barbados

Sunday, 18 October 2015

My boyfriend and I have definitely developed a travel bug after visiting Tunisia last September and Texas throughout January and February. We have even travelled to Paris in April and Spain and Greece in September and now considering a winter vacation near the time of my birthday in November, hopefully to Dubai to celebrate my 22nd. But our most exciting adventure will come next year when we hope to travel to the Caribbean to support my boyfriend's sister whilst she is competing in Barbados. Now I know what you are thinking, flying all the way across the world to support her is so nice of me! Disclosure - *It may or may not have to do with the beautiful sunshine and white sandy beaches*.

Nonetheless I have never been to the Caribbean before and am totally exciting at the prospect of being able to visit. So I'd love to hear all about your adventures if you've ever been and if there are any activities or places I should visit whilst over there?

Pinterest Style Steals

Monday, 12 October 2015

You can regularly find me pouring over Pinterest for the latest fashion and homewear inspiration. I really am obsessed with the site, you can find some great pictures for guidance on what to wear everyday. I have a fashion inspiration board which you can find here if you would like to follow, I will be sure to follow back. I'm always looking for new people and boards to follow. Often I find myself hunting for similar items to those in the pictures and thought I'd make this into a blog series, I especially love the white/cream chunky knit jumper which is perfect to wear in any season. Both featured in this post as from Romwe and they are on sale - the high neck chunky beige knit is only £11.27! My favourite is the turtleneck zipper sweater, which also comes in a variety of colours and will definitely be investing into.

I love the idea of getting a grey pair of jeans for my wardrobe as I tend to stick to the same couple of denim pairs as well as occasionally white. These AG jeans are great - but I'd love to find some slightly bluer like the picture. As we come into autumn it is essential to find ankle boots which can become your staple go to piece. I have ones exactly like the picture which I got from M&S a few years ago but I really love these Rag and Bone leather ankle boots in a light grey as well as these affordable Kohl's cutout ankle boots. I love the cutout detail as it transforms a plain boot into something more exciting. Adding gold accessories, like this Vince cutout cuff and this Sole Society turquoise natural stone ring, really finishes off the look leaving it feeling very stylish and chic.
