Brands

Monday, 7 October 2013

So for a recent Uni assignment my class was asked to think about the brands that they use everyday in a normal routine. At first, you'd think of only a few, then our lecturer explained that nearly everything we use and buy has been branded, whether it is the certain coffee you drink to wake yourself up, or the TV that you watch after work. For a successful business it must have a brand - something which tells the consumer who they are and what they supply.

Here is my list of just a few brands which I cross paths with on a typical day:

I wake up in my Gavin Bain and Co flat that I am leasing. I check my iPhone for the time, or to usually turn off the alarm which is blaring out. I get up from bed and go into the shower, where I shampoo and condition my hair with TIGI, and use Simple body wash. I put on my Topshop jeans, and usually something that I have bought from eBay - I am a self confessed addict. I spray my hair with a GHD heat protector and Sebastian hair product before drying it with my Remington hair-dryer.

My make-up is applied with 17 foundation and concealers, Benefit Mascara, and Soap and Glory eyeliner. I pick up my Mulberry handbag, spray my favourite Chloe perfume and head out the door to my Mini car, where I drive to Robert Gordon University to study for the day. I grab a water or tea from Costa Coffee on campus before my first lecture, where I take notes on my iPad. Usually throughout I will check my emails, and have a browse of my ongoing Amazon orders.

After Uni I will go to work at Monsoon/Accessorize, and further my learning of the fashion industry. Most likely I won't have anything for dinner - typical - so stop into ASDA on the way home. I will pick up something quite fabulous, and drive home to spend the rest of my night watching Sky on my LG television.

That sounds like an awful lot of brands, without even thinking or detailing any of the ones connected to what I have eaten and use only minor throughout my day. It is amazing how many brands are in the world today, and we do not even realise that we are connected to them.

What's your typical brand list?
Considering we are all a little more brand loyal than we may care to admit.

Maroon & Black

Monday, 30 September 2013

So I have been really into the Accessorize jewellery at the moment, most likely is because all I do is play with it and the Monsoon clothes all day when working. But I think this necklace is fab! Silver goes with a huge amount in my wardrobe and it's the perfect size for wearing with everyday casual pieces. This is just my typical work wear, I live by these jeans currently as they are so comfortable to wear and the pattern is really different too, which I loved.

I also apologise for these awful photos, they were really quickly done just before I nipped off to work. My face isn't always this ridiculously bad.

Accessorize AW13

Sunday, 8 September 2013

After being constantly surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of rings, bracelets and necklaces at work all day long, it was only a matter of time before I gave in to buy majority of the stock. I have been getting really into adding accessories to a simple outfit to give it just that little bit more punch and flare; and with Accessorize's recent AW13 Campaign with the gorgeous Tamsin Egerton I have completely fallen in love with nearly every piece my work has to offer. So here is a round up of my favourite picks from the new collection.

    £14.00                                                                                                 £29.00

£8.00                                                                                                    £19.00

£12.00                                                                                                               £22.00

Remember that if you are a student you can also get 10% discount online and in-store! You can't beat a little money off, that's for sure. What do you think of my mini Accessorize picks?

Accessorize Haul

Thursday, 18 July 2013

For one of my summer jobs, as you may already know, I am one of those sales assistants which you will find in the lovely Monsoon and occasionally, if they need me, Accessorize. By spending majority of my time in the stores I always leave with list upon list of items I want to buy. So here is a wee look into what I actually caved in and bought.

First up we have this gorgeous duck egg blue Hamsa necklace which is so delicately decorated. I have always been interested in Indian and the east jewellery as well as fashion, which is one of the many reasons why I am so interested in Monsoon as a company, I find it all so colourful and very visually interesting.

When getting ready for work in the store, I love the feeling of putting on the current trends and accessorises that line the racks and walls, and always feel so grateful when customers compliment the dress or top I am wearing from the collection. These bracelets go wonderfully with nearly every outfit, and the market style feel of them makes every set look different. The little charms that fall from it are charming and very cute, with one even being a little donkey.

As I am thinking of hopefully jetting off at the end of August I thought this travel document would be perfect for storing all my details! When flying I always like to be extremely organised or get a bit worked up - oops. With three separate compartments for documents, passports and tickets, I think this should to the trick. And not to mention 50% off in the sale, I only snatched this for around £2.

And here lies my last purchase, which could also be my favourite.

Since considering my holiday abroad - hopefully to the sunny Spain - I concluded after much thinking that I would need an everyday bag which could also double up for using on the flight. We all know you can never get on a flight without a HUGE carry on bag. So I have tried to venture for a smaller than usual shoulder tote. Which is surprisingly much bigger than expected and defeats the purpose of my purchase - but I'm still keeping the bag. I fell in love with its details and embroidery, and with added tassels too, how could anyone resist? My advice - go buy it now too, money very well spent.

Have you bought anything from Monsoon or Accessorize recently, or have any favourite purchases from the stores?
