OOTD

Tuesday, 10 December 2013

So I haven't posted anything in three days... Oops, sorry guys. I totally failed my blogging everyday during December challenge, but I did have a good reason. My Grandad has been in hospital after heart surgery but he is home now, and doing exceptionally well, so I travelled back home to Edinburgh to visit him over the weekend.

But here is a really quick and awfully presented OOTD post that I was wearing a couple of days ago to the hospital. I am really loving winter jumpers right now since it has been so cold is Aberdeen. Jumpers are great for every season and you can always guarantee that the Scottish weather will be unpredictable. I wear these loafers all the time too because they are super comfortable and have great grip on the bottom for icey mornings.

Jumper - Primark. Jeans - Topshop. Loafers - Marks & Spencer. Scarf - Spanish boutique. Bag - Mulberry. Face - Me.

What are you thinking of my outfit?
Would you wear it?

Street Rose

Thursday, 5 December 2013

So I stumbled upon this website the morning and thought it would be another great new website to get new and different things from. I love finding new clothing ideas that no one else is really into yet, don't get me wrong I love Topshop, but I hate the army it creates. Everyone wearing the same thing - clones are not my thing.

Street Rose is a new and upcoming fashion retailer trying to bring fresh and innovative designs to people who want it the most. As of right now the company has a range of t-shirts and jewellery. You can check it out here.

I am in love with their range of bracelets and my bank account will take a hit after I order all my favourites. I am a huge jewellery hoarder, anyone that knows me can see the huge amount that spills out of my jewellery boxes. Here are a few that I am hoping to get once I get paid.

Black Leather Turquoise Bracelet - £20
Turquoise jewels are my favourite thing in the world. I really have no idea why but somehow they are. This bracelet is so great because it has a magnetic clip to easily put on without any help - I find putting on some bracelets really difficult so this is a great way to fix that problem.

Tan Leather Bracelet (Limited Edition) - £15
Leather bracelets are always my first preference when I am choosing bracelets. They last way longer and don't end up turning your wrist green, which is always a winner in my book. This tan colour always matches almost all of my wardrobe and can be worn casually or on a night out.

Swarovski Black Suede Crimson Crystal Charm Bracelet - £20

This is my favourite out off all the others on the website. I love the multiple bands and the heart crystal makes this the perfect present to give as a gift, or just to keep for yourself. You can also buy this in a clear crystal too. They look great layered on top of one another.

I am totally loving Street Rose.

Christmas Night Out

Monday, 2 December 2013

With the Christmas fast approaching I thought I would put together a few pieces which I would love to wear on a Christmas night out, whether it be with work or friends. You always want to look your best and go that extra mile over the festive season.

I've kept all the choices from a online fashion retailer called Fashion Union, recently I have been stalking their website and am loving all of their stock. I thought it would be the perfect way to get more people to become aware of them. You can head over to the site here.

I am in love with this dress and think it would bring a perfect amount of sparkle to your night out.The revealing back is risqué but the swing dress cut keeps it youthful and playful. This dress also comes in silver and gold, but I much prefer the black as I believe it is easier to wear throughout the year.

This colour has been one to watch over the last season, it is cool, sexy and always looks great with any skin tone. It may be controversial but I actually really like velvet, I know many people find the texture strange to touch, but I don't mind it. I like the shine it gives, and this dress keeps it current with the bodycon style and cut out panels. This dress comes in navy too, but I prefer the the wine.

I think this is my favourite pick out of all the outfits. The detail on the front of the skirt caught my eye immediately, and I full heartedly believe is 'wearing white after labour day'. If you do it right it can look fabulous, white pleather is a great alternative to the usual black that you see. I am hoping to get this as soon as I am paid next.

What are you loving from Fashion Union?

The Carrie Diaries

Wednesday, 9 October 2013

Ever since I can remember have have loved Sex and the City. I love the girls, their interactions with each other and the nail biting story lines. Will they? Won't they? But more than anything I have been obsessed with the fashion and style. Carrie's outfits episode after episode was one of my first interests into fashion, and looking back I still love the way she was styled.

With the recent TV series of the Carrie Diaries I have loved having the eclectic style of Miss Bradshaw back on my screen.

But you can never really beat the original Carrie's fashion choices. I love the way the stylist for the show mixed fabrics, and patterns to really push the boundaries of trends at the time. The way that most of the outfits would still be acceptable to wear during this time always impresses me. In the words of Coco Chanel:

Fashion Changes, but Style Remains.

Which of Carrie's outfits do you love the most?

Style Crush #6: Rose Byrne

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

Recently I have been totally girl crushing on this lovely lady, she is simply gorgeous, always impeccably dressed, and that hair! Without a doubt she is a woman to watch on the red carpet. I always seem to be envious of everything she wears. With her own personal style, she appropriately dresses for her age, and body type.

Miss Byrne mixes prints together effortlessly, and isn't afraid to shy away from bold block colours either. I length of the skirt she is wearing as I think this really compliments the floral girly print, without making it look older.

I adore this Jill Stuart berry coloured soft leather skirt, the A-line cut flatters her toned legs and tiny waist perfectly, matched with a similar blouse creates a whole chic outfit with minimal effort. Keeping her simple, elegant style Byrne adopts yet another classic look which works so well with her stunning beauty.

I'm sure anyone can tell you that I ADORE a red dress, I think that they are one of the sexiest things a woman can wear (along with an LBD) and still look like a lady. The cut of this dress keeps it young and flirty, while still covering up enough skin. You can never go wrong with big volume hair either. This one is a winner for me.

This is my favourite look out of all Byrne's red carpet looks. The dust pink shade is bag on trend with the coming A/W 13 and it is so refreshing to see some lighter colours coming into the Winter months. The cropped top effect is also bang on trend - I don't think you can even walk down your local highstreet without seeing someone sporting one. The way the skirt falls to the floor at just the right length shows proper care has gone into picking this dress and time well spent altering it. Bravo Rose you've certainly got me jealous of your wardrobe.
