Les Nudes

Sunday, 13 October 2013

Racism is a daily battle for some people, but shoe designer Christian Louboutin is trying to make the world that little bit better by redefining the colour term 'nude'. For years now the term has been used to describe shoes, and clothing alike, but who defines what shade nude is? With a plethora of skin tones all over the globe, shouldn't we be adjusting our definitions to keep up with the current times?

In recent years there has now been a much greater awareness and choice for darker skin tones in cosmetics. Why is only now fashion is beginning to catch up? Get yo' head in the game fashion.

The collection consists of five fabulous 'nude' shoes, all with the most perfect names ranging from 'Fair Blush' to 'Rich Chestnut'. Finally someone is thinking about what its target market has been crying out for for years. A girl cannot live without a good pair of nude shoes in her wardrobe and now this is possible for everyone - if you can pay the price tag, that is. I need a pair in my life ASAP.

"The shoes are there to give the woman an extra lift, not to take attention away from the legs and what she is wearing. They disappear like magic and become a fluid extension of her legs, as in a sketch, elongating the silhouette."
