Deep Sea World

Tuesday, 11 June 2013

During the exam time, procrastination took place in a very large part of my studying, as a result, I created a list of all the things that I would like to visit/do over the summer. Obviously I had to make this quite realistic as I am working over the summer and do not have a large sum of cash to put towards any of the prospective choices.

So I went to Deep Sea World! For those of you who do not know, Deep Sea World is an underground aquarium situated beside the Firth of Forth river in Scotland. Which showcases a wide range of fish, sharks and sea creatures. After not visiting the tourist attraction in years my boyfriend finally took me the other day.

I got the chance to see the seal feed whilst we were visiting and as it was such a brilliant, sunny day it made the event even better. The seals that stay at the site are mother and daughter and have been trained to do some tricks, such as jumping up to touch the buoys above their enclosure and playing with several balls and hoops.

The Aquarium also has a variety of other animals, such as this lizard and smiling salamander! I really loved the fact that this little guy did look as though he was smiling away. It made my day. Although, it has to be said my favourite part of the place had to be the underwater tunnel!

It is the most surreal place to be, absolutely amazing though. The way that the fish swim above and all around you is really a mesmerising process. I would highly recommend going if you haven't ever been before.

Let me tell you, after this MASSIVE shark swam over my head, I was a very happy lady to have a few inches thick of glass between us. He did not look like he would go easy on you.

Do you have any summer bucket lists? Or have been to the aquarium too? I would love to hear any of your stories.
Blog soon little ones!
